LIVE FROM AUSTIN TEXAS |
Amplifier provides jobs to around 20 full
time employees in the capitol of Texas. Austin has been
variously described as the “Live Music Capitol
of the World”, “The Third Coast”, and
ignominous home of MTV’s last season of “The
Real World.” Most recently, Austin is proud to
call itself home to the latest failed Hard Rock Cafe.
You may also recognize Austin from its recent national
college football title or as the friendly host city of
the SXSW Music, Film and Interactive festival.
Edging the Texas Hill Country, Austin is home to a
beautiful system of parks and lakes and springs. Most
notably, Barton Springs, a 20,000,000 gallon a day
free flowing spring that many consider to be the heart
of the city. People in Austin, with certain exceptions,
are easy-going, almost rigidly casual and often fiercely
competent behind their unassuming demeanors. Your mailman
might have a double-life as a Zakk-Wylde-style guitar
hero. Your waitress might have a Ph.D. in Anthropology.
The guy serving you pizza at the Alamo might pull focus
on a film set. You just never know. |
