Jef Sewell
Co-founder & Chief Product Officer
About Jef
In 1998, at the dawn of ecommerce, Jef Sewell co-founded an early ecommerce company. Sales unexpectedly took off and he quickly learned that – despite good intentions – the third-party logistics industry lacked imagination.
This prompted Jef and Joel Bush to start Amplifier. Their idea was to reimagine direct-to-consumer fulfillment as not just another a sales channel but rather as a new medium.
In addition to his role as Amplifier’s CPO/Head of Product, Jef co-founded humor publisher Despair, Inc. At Despair, Jef co-created the viral “Demotivational Poster” meme, their parody of Choose Your Own Adventures, and published the ultimate edition of Charles Ponzi’s 1935 memoirs.
Jef is also a patented inventor and documentary filmmaker.
